A, By law only gas safe engineers are allowed to work on gas appliances. Many company’s will state they can still repair the electric oven of your cooker, but please be aware as a competent company should always carry out certain electrical tests before and after repairing your oven, cooker or hob. For these test to be done probably and safely it would require you pulling out the cooker from its housing which can disturb or damage the gas supply. The gas hoses on cookers are normally to short for you to pull out fully, so it will more then likely need removing and reconnecting again hence why you need a gas safe engineer to carry out the repair.
